Welcome to the ContentCard® user manual!
The market for services and multimedia products is continuously growing. The ContentCard®, with its handy postcard format, is a clever way of packaging virtual products. For customers and dealers, the world of virtual products is now available in shops too.

Advantages for retailers
The ContentCard® provides the opportunity for shop-based retailers to participate actively in the rapidly growing content market. As a folded payment card, the ContentCard® can be offered in almost any shop.
Selling virtual products (e.g. software for mobile phones) was previously only possible via internet pages, TV spots and adverts. The ContentCard® turns virtual into tangible products, which are presented at tills and behind counters in an appealing form.

Advantages for the customer
As opposed to conventional sales channels for virtual products, such as the internet, the customer can receive support and advice from the specialist retailer when purchasing the product.
Apart from professional advice, the ContentCard® also provides quick and easy access to virtual products.
The ContentCard® can, for example, be used to activate special functions for mobile phones, activate access to file downloads and purchase services within seconds.
ContentCard® products are not tied to a subscription. They are paid for once with no follow-up costs. Payment is made at the till and does not require giving any personal details, such as account details and PIN numbers.

1. The ContentCard
The ContentCard® provides access to the world of virtual products. You can use it for purchasing additional software for your mobile phone or multimedia computer, as well as for activating already integrated software (e.g. integrated GPS navigation).
Downloading files (e.g. video and music files or ring tones) via online portals is possible with the ContentCard® without giving any personal or account details.
Services such as Video-on-Demand subscriptions or additional services for an existing mobile phone contract, are quickly and readily available by means of the ContentCard®.
The cellophane-sealed original packaging of the ContentCard® has the format of a post-card.
On the outside the service or content is explained in detail on both sides - as on labels for music CDs and video DVDs.
Additionally, the ContentCard® serial number, required for activating the ContentCard®, is given on the back. The validity date is also specified there. |

2. Becoming a ContentCard dealer
To become a ContentCard dealer please register with ContentCard Verlags GmbH at
Register now! using an online form.
During registration as a ContentCard dealer you are given the opportunity to determine a distributor of your choice from whom you wish to procure the ContentCard.
Fill in the online registration form and enter the distributor. The online registration form will then be forwarded directly to your distributor. When purchasing goods via the ContentCard online shop, you automatically order the ContentCards from the distributor specified during your registration.

D. Activating the ContentCard
Before the ContentCard® can be sold or used, it must be activated by the dealer. This is performed using the clearly displayed, unique ContentCard® serial number.
Please note, that the ContentCard® cannot be used unless it has been activated. Even requesting the products from the ContentCard® service centre via the secret ContentCard® code would yield any response!

1. Serial number
The serial number necessary for Activating the ContentCard® is given on the back. It is clearly displayed on the bottom right of the sealed ContentCard®.
The dealer activates the ContentCard® using this serial number online at www.contentcard.com.

2. Online activation
- For the online activation the dealer, authorized by the ContentCard service centre, must login with his details at
www.contentcard.com.
- Enter your login details into the appropriate fields and click Login.
The following page contains the "Enter serial number" field.

- In this field you enter the complete #13-digit ContentCard serial number.
Please watch out for any transposed or omitted digits! The ContentCard serial number is sent off to the ContentCard service centre after clicking the
Activate button.

- Please check the details in the information field on the following page. If the details are correct, click the Execute activation button.
If you wish to correct your details, please press New entry.

- If the activation of the ContentCard has been successful, the "Activation performed successfully" message appears. The ContentCard, with its secret ContentCard code on the inside, is now activated and can be sold.

3. Short description

4. Error messages during the activation process
During the activation process some error messages may be displayed. Possible reasons for a problem during activation:
- Dealer has no credit limit with the distributor
- Incorrect input of serial number
- Serial number has already been activated
Depending on the type of error, different error messages are displayed.
Invalid serial number
This error message is displayed if a combination of numbers and letters has been entered. The serial number contains only numerals. Check the entered serial number for letters!

The entered serial number does not exist. Please check your serial number.
This error message is displayed if a combination of numbers was entered for which no corresponding serial number exists at the ContentCard service centre. Check the entered serial number for wrong input and transposed or omitted digits!

Activation has failed.
This error message is displayed if the entered serial number has already been activated.
Check the entered serial number! Click
New input to enter another ContentCard serial number.
If you have read the serial number on the ContentCard correctly, and the mentioned error messages still appear, please contact the ContentCard support in the help / support section at
www.contentcard.com.
A
support ticket, which is to be filled out by the dealer, will be issued there. Depending on the type of problem, the ticket is forwarded to the respective distributor or to the support department of the ContentCard service centre.

E. Retrieving ContentCard products
To retrieve the ContentCard product, the secret, unique ContentCard Code given on the inside of the ContentCard must be sent to the ContentCard service centre via SMS.
Subsequently, the consumer of the ContentCard receives a response SMS which contains the appropriate ContentCard product (e.g. license key for activating the GPS Navigation of a mobile phone).
The procedure for retrieving a ContentCard product is always the same. Only the content of the response message varies.

Please note, that the ContentCard cannot be used unless it has been activated. Even requesting the products from the ContentCard service centre using the secret ContentCard code would yield no response!
Make sure the ContentCard is activated at the shop as soon as you purchase it!

1. Requesting the ContentCard product
As soon as the dealer has activated the ContentCard successfully for you, the appropriate ContentCard product can be requested.
- Remove the tear strip at the ContentCard and open it to obtain the 16-digit ContentCard code inside the card.
- Open a new SMS message and enter the complete ContentCard code into the text field.
Please watch out for any transposed or omitted digits!
- If the ContentCard code has been entered correctly, please send this SMS to the following number of the ContentCard service centre:
Germany: 0177 / 1785254*
From abroad: +49 177 / 1785254
As soon as the ContentCard code was sent to the correct number, a response SMS which contains the appropriate ContentCard product follows soon after.

Please note that sending a ContentCard code without activating the ContentCard first will yield no response.
*The only resulting costs are the usual SMS tariffs of the network provider.

2. Response
The response is sent to your mobile telephone number via SMS. It contains a short text with product details and ContentCard product (e.g. license key).
Example:
Your requested license key for "Nokia Navigation Category A - 1 Year" is: CD 1234 5678
ContentCard products can be sent in form of a license key (e.g. GPS navigation), an activation/credit codes (e.g. subscription) or in form of access details (e.g. internet sites with costs).
Enter this information into the respective masks as specified by the provider .

1. Nokia Maps Navigation
The ContentCard for Nokia Maps Navigation, which you purchased, gives you a license key for activating the voice-operated navigation on your Nokia device. This license key is required for using the voice-operated navigation. It is sent to you via SMS by the ContentCard service centre inform of a 10-digit, alpha-numerical number.
Tip! Ask your Nokia dealer whether a GPS navigation application exists on your mobile phone model!
Usage requirements
The card application Nokia Maps Navigation must be available on the device. Furthermore, sending and receiving SMS messages must be possible, as well as initialising an internet connection for activating Nokia Maps Navigation. Please check whether the above services are supported by your Nokia device and your network provider. Possible costs for SMSes and initialising the internet connection are charged by your mobile service provider. Costs may vary depending on the tariffs of your mobile network provider. ContentCards which have already been opened cannot be taken back.
