What is a ContentCard?

The ContentCard is a fold-over card which contains a secret ContentCard code printed on the inside. The ContentCard code is a 16-digit numerical code which is used for requesting the ContentCard product via SMS.

End customer:
The ContentCard is a payment system for a virtual product and can be purchased from any authorized ContentCard dealer. Entering personal payment information (such as credit card numbers etc.) via the internet is not necessary.

Dealer:
The ContentCard provides an opportunity for shop-based retailers to distribute virtual products.

What is the difference between activating the ContentCard and retrieving the ContentCard product?

Activating the ContentCard refers to the process whereby the dealer activates the ContentCard at www.contentcard.com using the ContentCard serial number provided on the card. The ContentCard serial number is clearly visible and unique.
Retrieving the ContentCard product refers to the process whereby the end customer sends the secret ContentCard code to the SMS number printed on the inside of the card. Then the ContentCard product is sent to the end customer via SMS.

What is the purpose of the secret ContentCard code that is printed on the inside of the ContentCard?

The secret ContentCard code printed on the inside of the ContentCard is only used for requesting the ContentCard product via SMS. As in the example of Nokia Navigation, the end customer also receives a reply containing the license key after his request via SMS .

What is the purpose of the unique ContentCard serial number displayed on the outside of the ContentCard?

The ContentCard dealer uses the displayed, unique ContentCard serial number to activate the card sold to the end customer. Without activation the ContentCard cannot used. Even sending the non-activated, secret ContentCard code to the ContentCard service centre would yield no response.

How does a ContentCard work?

End customer:
After activation by the dealer, the secret 16-digit numerical ContentCard code printed inside the ContentCard can be sent to the SMS number given on the card. Subsequently the ContentCard product is transferred via SMS.

Dealer:
Each ContentCard contains a clearly displayed, unique ContentCard serial number on the back of the card. When bought by the customer, the number must be activated by an authorized ContentCard dealer via www.contentcard.com. As soon as the card has been activated, payments for the ContentCard are handled with the respective distributor.

Where can I buy the ContentCard?

End customer:
The ContentCard can be bought from any authorized ContentCard dealer.

Dealer:
During registration process to become a ContentCard dealer you are given the opportunity to specify the distributor of your choice from whom you wish to procure the ContentCard. This is done during the completion of the online registration form, where you name your distributor. The online registration form is then directly forwarded to your distributor. When you now go shopping in the contentcard online-shop and decide to order ContentCards they will be automatically ordered for you from the distributor specified in the online-registration process.

Can I order the ContentCard online via www.contentcard.com?

End customer:
No, this is not possible. You can obtain the ContentCard from a ContentCard dealer listed at www.contentcard.com.

Dealer:

As an authorized dealer you can order or reorder ContentCards.

Does the ContentCard only work with certain mobile phone producers?

Requesting and sending the respective ContentCard product is carried out via SMS and is therefore independent of the mobile phone type. Please note that the usability of certain provider products may depend on the producer and model of mobile phone.

Can I retrieve the ContentCard product from abroad?

Yes, it can be retrieved independent of the location. Please inquire about your network operator?s usual tariffs beforehand. Please dial the appropriate country code when sending the SMS.

Can I retrieve the ContentCard product several times?

End customer:
Yes, the ContentCard product can be retrieved by using the identical secret ContentCard code as often as it needs to be retrieved. Please note that the ContentCard product must always be retrieved by using the same mobile phone number.

Dealer:
No, as a dealer you only activate the ContentCard when it is purchased by the end customer. Repeated activation of the ContentCard by the dealer is not possible.

Does the ContentCard have to be activated within a certain period of time?

The validity of the ContentCard and hence its activation is limited by the validity date printed at the back of the card. The validity date is located above the ContentCard serial number.

Can I give the ContentCard to someone as a present?

The ContentCard is very suitable as a present. However it must then be activated by the dealer when purchased. Please also note the validity date at the back of the ContentCard.

Can the ContentCard product be used simultaneously by several users?

The ContentCard product can only be retrieved once. Because of this, it can only be used by one user at a time.

End customer:
Please check first whether the ContentCard has been activated. Contact your dealer for this.

What do I do if the public ContentCard serial number does not work?

Dealer:
Please check first whether the ContentCard serial number has been entered correctly and completely.
If the ContentCard serial number does not work in spite of being correctly input, please use a different ContentCard and activate it.
Please note, that the ContentCard can only be activated once. Thereafter no further activation is possible.

Are there special mobile phone networks where the ContentCard product cannot be retrieved?

Generally, the ContentCard product can be retrieved via any network. The only prerequisite is the SMS function on your mobile phone.
Should using the ContentCard product require special services from your mobile network operator, these requirements will be stated explicitly on the ContentCard.

It is not possible to block the ContentCard or the ContentCard product.

Since the ContentCard product has already been sent to you via SMS, the secret ContentCard code contained in the ContentCard loses its validity. It is therefore no longer possible to retrieve the ContentCard product.

Where is the secret ContentCard code located?

The 16-digit numerical ContentCard code can only be viewed after removing the perforated tear strip on the ContentCard. The ContentCard code is located on the inside of the fold-over card.

Who can become a ContentCard dealer?

Becoming a ContentCard dealer requires a trading license as well as registration at www.contentcard.com. There you find a registration form which is electronically sent to the desired distributor who handles distribution and payment.

What can be done in the case of a problem during the activation of the ContentCard by the dealer?

At www.contentcard.com there is a support ticket which is filled out by the dealer. Depending on the type of problem, the ticket is forwarded to the respective distributor or to the support department of ContentCard Verlags GmbH.

Possible reasons for a problem during activation:
  • Dealer has no credit limit with the distributor
  • Incorrect input of serial number
  • Serial number has already been activated

What do I do if the ContentCard has been stolen?

End customer:
If the ContentCard product has not yet been requested via SMS, the unused ContentCard product cannot be replaced. It is not possible to block the ContentCard.
If the ContentCard product has already been sent to you via SMS, the secret numerical ContentCard code contained in the ContentCard loses its validity. It is therefore no longer possible to retrieve the ContentCard product and so no loss has occurred.

Dealer:
If the ContentCard is stolen before it has been activated, there will be no financial loss as the ContentCard serial number printed overleaf can only be activated by an authorized dealer via www.contentcard.com. The ContentCard cannot be used by anyone unless it has been activated.
If the ContentCard is stolen after activation, the unused ContentCard product cannot be replaced. The ContentCard cannot be blocked.

The SMS sending times depend on the respective network operator and should not exceed 5 minutes.
